BAILEY RESIGNS AS HEAD WOMEN’S BASKETBALL COACH
Quincy University has announced that Kaci Bailey has resigned her position as Head Women’s Basketball Coach effective immediately. Bailey has accepted the Head Women’s Basketball Coach position at Drury University.
“I want to thank Coach Bailey for her two years of service to our athletic department,” said Josh Rabe, athletic director. “We knew that this was going to be a heavy lift to get back to the postseason, and we did it in two short years. We wish her nothing but the best.”
During her short tenure at the helm of the women’s basketball team, Bailey led the Hawks for two seasons, reaching the GLVC tournament for the first time in seven years this past season.
“I want to thank Quincy University, President McGee, Josh Rabe and the entire athletic department for the last two years,” said Kaci Bailey. “I am forever grateful for their belief in me and support as I led the QU WBB program. This community is special and has embraced me like none other. Quincy will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you!”
Bailey came to QU in 2021 from George Mason University where she served as the assistant women’s basketball coach and assistant recruiting coordinator for the four years. Prior to joining George Mason, Bailey was the assistant women’s basketball coach and recruiting coordinator at Wichita State University and the University of Central Arkansas. She also served in the same role at Henderson State University, where she had the additional role of interim head women’s basketball coach for six months.
An announcement about the future leadership of the QU women’s basketball program will be made at a press conference at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, April 6, in the Hall of Fame Room in the Health and Fitness Center at 20th and Oak.
