Dr. Christine Damm, assistant professor of music at Quincy University, has been accepted to speak at the Illinois Music Educator’s Conference in January 2018 in Peoria, IL. Her presentation titled, “Wonderful Woodwinds: Building Balance and Blend in Young Bands” is geared towards K-12 Music educators and beginning band directors. It will focus on rehearsal tips and techniques to build confidence in young players and increase the quality of tone quality in young bands.

“I am honored to have been chosen to speak at these music conventions.  I love sharing my passion for music and music education with band directors and students. It’s a great opportunity to showcase Quincy University’s music program throughout the Midwest,” says Damm.

Damm was also accepted to speak at the Iowa Music Educator’s Convention in November 2017, on the Iowa State University campus in Ames, Iowa. Her presentation titled, “Growing Through Chamber Music:  Planting the Seeds of Lifelong Music Making” will focus on getting students excited about performing music in small ensembles and learning how to build their musicianship skills and is geared towards K-12 Music educators.
