The Quincy University Symphonic Band will perform a spring concert on May 4 at 3 p.m. in the Connie Niemann Center for Music, 17th & Seminar Road.

The concert will feature an exciting new work by composer Alex Shapiro that features an audio track accompaniment to the band parts. This requires the use of a click track for the conductor and audio equipment to relay the sounds to both the band members and the audience, presenting a unique and modern performance challenge.

Music education major Raven Sweeney will also conduct a piece of the concert.

The QU Symphonic Band is under the direction of Bill Machold, MM, assistant professor of music and director of bands.
