QU GRAY GALLERY TO HOST AMANDA STRUDWICK ART EXHIBITION

Quincy University’s Gray Gallery, located in Brenner Library, will host the art exhibition “A Mother’s Stance,” featuring oil painting and drawings by Amanda Strudwick from Quincy. This free exhibition will take place from February 19 – March 15, and is open to the public.

Strudwick earned her degree in art education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2003. She and her family moved to Quincy in 2008.

“The phrase ‘A Mother’s Stance’ is intended to embody the idea that mothers, and those who are living out a motherly role in some way, assume a certain inward disposition which is naturally embodied, reflected and at times becomes clearly visible in the form of a stance, gesture, or positioning of the body,” Strudwick said. “It is my hope that these paintings and drawings illustrate a few of the countless stances mothers take throughout their lives, giving a beautiful definition to motherhood and reflecting the love of the most beautiful Mother.”

The exhibit features an artist’s reception from 2 – 3:30 p.m. on February 25, in QU’s Gray Gallery.
