
QU COMMUNICATION HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTS NEW MEMBERS AND ELECTS CHAPTER OFFICERS
Quincy University’s Kappa Lambda Rho chapter of the Lambda Pi Eta national communication honor society recognized new members, December graduates, and held an election for new officers on September 24, at the Connie Niemann Center for Music.
Graduation honor cords were presented to two Kappa Lambda Rho seniors: Carter Lenzen of Byrnes Mill, Missouri, and Lucas Ladenthin of Kansas City, Missouri.
The following new members were inducted: Kylan Funk of Quincy, Illinois; Jasmine Hopkins of Forest Grove, Oregon; Freja Hansen of Taastrup, Denmark; Angelina Pagliaccio of Bedford, Texas; Austin Haskins of Quincy, Illinois; Lucas Ladenthin and Carter Lenzen.
The following chapter officers were elected for the 2025-2026 academic year: Mia Blaesing (president), Angelina Pagliaccio (vice-president), Lindsey Fischer (secretary), Rochelle Witzke (treasurer).
“This induction shows that students are proud of their academic achievements and deserve to be recognized for their hard work,” said Nora Baldner, assistant professor of communication. “They are welcomed into the national honor society through high GPAs and a commitment to the communication major or minor at QU.”
Graduates are eligible to wear red and white honor cords at commencement in recognition of their accomplishments in the major. The group offers public relations and publicity consulting services to other clubs and organizations on campus.
Since 2005, the QU Communications department has maintained the KappaLambda Rho chapter membership in Lambda Pi Eta, the official communication studies honor society of the National Communication Association. The QU chapter has inducted 163 members since it received its charter. As an accredited member of the Association of College Honor Societies, Lambda Pi Eta has over 300 active chapters at colleges and universities worldwide.
