Left to right Elizabeth Robertson and Julia Liesen

Quincy University awarded two Quincy Notre Dame students with scholarships at a ceremony at QND on Thursday, March 12. Julia Liesen was awarded the Presidential Scholarship and plans to major in pre-med. Elizabeth Robertson was awarded the Music Virtuoso Scholarship and plans to major in forensic psychology.

“It is especially exciting to extend these awards to Julia and Elizabeth as they are graduating from QND, where we share a special relationship due to our similar missions of promoting Catholic education. We are proud of their accomplishments and can’t wait to see them continue to represent their community by attending Quincy University.” Brittany Weise, M.A., director of admissions.

To qualify for the prestigious four-year, full-tuition Presidential scholarship, students must attain a minimum ACT score of 26 or SAT score of 1230 and a high school grade point average of 3.4 or higher. The two-part selection process included a timed, written essay and personal interviews with QU faculty.

Winners of the Virtuoso Music Scholarship receive a four-year, full-tuition award to QU and are not required to be a music major during their time at the university. Winners were chosen at the discretion of the music faculty based on ensemble needs and the talent level of the candidates.
