QU ANNOUNCES RECORD-BREAKING FUNDRAISING YEAR
As the new academic year approaches, Quincy University is celebrating record-breaking fundraising results from 2024-2025.
Including unrestricted and restricting giving of all types, Quincy University’s fundraising total for 2024-2025 was $19,009,321. This amount was more than double the fundraising total in 2023-2024 and is the highest in university history.
The previous one-year record for fundraising at Quincy University was just over $10.4 million and was set three years ago in 2021-2022. The new fundraising record is 82% higher than the previous mark.
“We have now finished a truly astonishing year for philanthropy at Quincy University,” said Brian McGee, Ph.D., QU president. “This extraordinary generosity reflects a deep belief in Quincy University’s Catholic and Franciscan mission of preparing students to lead lives of service, faith, and purpose.
While large one-year fundraising records at some universities can be attributed to a single large gift, that wasn’t the case for QU in 2024-2025. In setting this new record, QU received four separate gifts of $3 million or more with thousands of alumni, friends, and community members investing at every level. As reported previously, the university also set a new QU Fund giving record during 2024-2025.
“With renovations and improvements underway or newly completed at the QU North Campus and the QU Baseball Stadium and in some of our largest buildings including Francis Hall, Willer Hall, and the Health & Fitness Center, Quincy University is more ready than ever to welcome its next great group of students,” said McGee. “With new faculty hiring, outstanding facilities, and terrific new programs, we can’t wait for the next year to begin, with great thanks to the donors who have made so much of this work possible.”
Several significant gifts were committed to meet various needs and projects of the university, including the support of two new degrees planned for their launch in 2026: the Doctor of Physical Therapy and the Doctor of Occupational Therapy. QU is also growing its new programs in electrical and mechanical engineering and has created new and expanded classrooms and laboratories for the sciences and health sciences.
“This milestone is more than a number; it’s a clear sign of confidence in QU’s future and the quality of our programs,” said Daniel Queathem, QU senior director of university advancement. “These results reflect the power of partnership between our donors and the university. We welcome others to walk alongside us as we continue building a Quincy University that transforms lives and communities.”
QU fundraising was so strong in late 2024 and early 2025 that the university announced an interim fundraising total in January 2025. Today’s announcement incorporates that interim total and represents the final fundraising tally for 2024-2025, including all gifts received through May 31, 2025.
