Four high school seniors have been awarded a 2018 Quincy University Presidential Scholarship. To qualify for the prestigious four-year, full-tuition scholarship the students attained a minimum ACT score of 26 or SAT score of 1240 and a high school grade point average of 3.4 or higher. Presidential Scholarship recipients are Alexia Ginter of Troy, Mo., majoring in criminal justice; Abigail Kohlberg of Alton, Ill., majoring in elementary education major; Mary Jane Maguire of Washington, Mo., majoring in biology; and Julianna Rourke of Eureka, Mo., major undeclared;

 

“We are thrilled with the number of outstanding candidates in this year’s Presidential Scholarship competition.  These awards serve as a celebration of academic excellence and we hope that all of the participants will continue that success here at Quincy University,” said QU President Phil Conover.

 

Out of a pool of 36 applicants from three states, the selection process was held on the QU campus on February 3, 2018. The two-part selection process includes a timed, written essay and personal interviews with QU faculty. Additional activities included campus and program tours, panel discussions and presentations for parents by QU Administrators.
