Common Data Set

The Common Data Set (CDS) is a set of standard data and definitions created through the collaborative effort of data providers in the higher education community and survey publishers, such as the College Board, Peterson’s, and U.S. News & World Report. The combined goal of this collaboration is to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student’s transition into higher education, as well as to reduce the reporting burden on data providers.

Quincy University participates in the Common Data Set (CDS) initiative. The Office of Institutional Research maintains and updates the annual CDS report.  It is a compilation of most frequently requested statistics and other descriptive information concerning students, faculty, instructional programs, and student services at QU.  The CDS is comprised of 10 sections, each covering a different topic.  When viewing this data, it is important to understand CDS data definitions as they may differ slightly from definitions used by Quincy University.  These definitions are included in the final pages of each report.  To learn more, please visit the CDS website.
