Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Theology

Quincy University, a Catholic liberal arts institution in the Franciscan tradition, seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Theology. QU offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology and Philosophy, with concentrations in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Catholic and Franciscan Theology, and Philosophy & Ethics. This position also serves the minor in Theology as well as the larger student body by offering theology courses as part of our Bonaventure Program of core studies.

Responsibilities:  QU is seeking qualified candidates to teach courses such as Introduction to Christian Moral Conscience, Christian Sexuality, Guide to Christian Marriage, and Catholic Social Teaching and/or other courses in their areas of expertise and interest.  The standard teaching load is 4 courses each semester.  Academic advising and committee work are expected after the first year.

Professor and Program Director of Engineering

Quincy University, a Catholic liberal arts institution in the Franciscan tradition, seeks applicants for a full-time, tenured/tenure-track Professor and Program Director of Engineering.  Quincy University is launching bachelor’s degree programs in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering in Fall 2024 and will seek ABET accreditation on schedule.  New laboratory and teaching spaces are currently being constructed as part of a $4.2 million facilities remodeling project.

Responsibilities:  The Program Director will be responsible for community, prospective student, and advisory board outreach, curriculum design, management of ABET accreditation process, assessment, technical standards, program budget, and student and graduate records.  The usual teaching load is 4 courses each semester.  This full-time faculty position will have half-reassigned time for administrative duties, as well as the responsibility to recruit for hire one additional Engineering faculty in both AY 2025-26 and AY 2026-27.    Academic advising and committee work are expected.

Qualifications:  The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in either Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, or related field, be a tenured full-professor, or equivalent, and have experience with curriculum development and ABET accreditation.

Physical Therapy Core Faculty (Open Rank, Remote)

Quincy University, a Catholic liberal arts institution in the Franciscan tradition, seeks applicants for a full-time, 10 month, tenure-track/tenured faculty in Physical Therapy.  Quincy University is launching doctoral degree programs in Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy in January 2026.  QU is on track with CAPTE accreditation for DPT and ACOTE accreditation of the OTD program.  New laboratory and teaching spaces are currently being constructed as part of a $4.2 million facilities remodeling project, including expansion of the existing cadaver lab.

Responsibilities:  The core faculty have the responsibility and authority to establish academic regulations and to design, implement and evaluate the curriculum.  Graduate level teaching is the equivalent of a 3:3 load, or 18 credits per academic year.  Courses will be taught in synchronous and/or asynchronous online delivery.  Faculty are required to travel to Quincy, IL for lab immersions periodically.  Release time will be included to maintain clinical practice.

Qualifications:  Candidates must hold a doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) as well as have contemporary expertise specific to any assigned teaching area.  Candidates must also possess an active, unrestricted PT license in any United States jurisdiction, and be eligible for licensure in Illinois.  Additional requirements include 3 years of full-time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical practice as a licensed physical therapist, the ability to develop a well-defined, ongoing scholarly agenda, and a record of institutional or professional service.  Preference will be given to candidates with a post-professional doctorate, ABPTS board certification(s), those with experience teaching in an online environment, and/or experience with curriculum and program development.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Assistant Athletic Trainer

Quincy University’s Athletic Training Department is currently accepting applications for full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will work as part of the Athletic Training Staff in providing the highest level of health care for a diverse population of student-athletes and various NCAA Division II sports. Specific sport assignments will be determined by Head Athletic Trainer

Essential Responsibilities for both positions include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Serves as a representative of the University, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the QU community and with the public.
  2. Provide Athletic Training coverage; this includes practices and event (home/away).
  3. Work directly with the team physician, coaches, local hospital, and rehabilitation centers to coordinate treatment of Quincy University student-athletes.
  4. Provide coaches with appropriately updated injury reports in a timely manner.
  5. Administer all athletic training documentation (insurance forms, injury reports, physical forms, etc.).
  6. Assist in managing all insurance claim documentation and insurance pre-certifying (making sure proper coverage for medical services locally or referred by team physician will be covered under primary insurance provider). This includes completing incident reports online for secondary insurance purposes in a timely manner and maintaining proper insurance documentation.
  7. Manage and care for all athlete files generated and updated on a yearly basis for new and returning athletes.
  8. Required team travel with various sports.
  9. Provide excellent communication to coaching staff, parents, and athletes.
  10. Assist with the supervision all aspects of the University’s athletic training facilities and the provision of necessary equipment and supplies.
  11. Assist in establishing appropriate policies and procedures in conjunction with the Athletic Training Staff and potential assistance in the supervision and clinical supervision of Athletic Training Students.
  12. Abide by the policies, regulation, and rules of the NCAA, NATA, GLVC conference, and Quincy University including the Quincy University Code of Ethics.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer & Director of Athletics.
