Many dog owners teach their pets a few basic commands, such as “sit,” “stay,” and “come.”  How are some dogs able to perform difficult or complex tricks such as those used in professional performances? This class will cover a few theories of animal training and strategies use to teach dogs novel tricks, including live demonstrations.  The Trick Dog titles offered by the American Kennel Club will be reviewed.  At the end, a performance will be given by Dr. Coelho and his standard schnauzer, Isabel the Reluctant Wonder Dog, and possibly other dogs.  The class will be held at North Campus.
