CHICAGO – The Illinois CPA Society recently honored Dr. Vicky Eidson, Associate Professor of Accounting at Quincy University, with its Outstanding Educator Award. Eidson was recognized for significant contributions to accounting education in Illinois through leadership, teaching excellence and active involvement in the accounting profession.

She received the honor on Tuesday, June 14 at the Illinois CPA Society’s annual Leadership Recognition Dinner in Chicago. The Illinois CPA Society, with more than 24,000 members, is one of the largest state CPA societies in the nation. Its mission is dedicated to enhancing the value of the CPA profession through the strategic initiatives of advocacy, information, education and connections.

In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate accounting classes, Eidson’s academic research interests focus on entrepreneurship. She is also researching on-line versus in-class learning.

Eidson also volunteers her time and accounting expertise. She currently serves on the audit committee for a local non-profit enterprise and is a member of Rotary International.
