QUINCY UNIVERSITY BREAKS ANOTHER ENROLLMENT RECORD
It’s another great year for new students at Quincy University, complete with the latest QU enrollment achievement for the twenty-first century.
With a total of 431 newly arrived undergraduate students for Fall 2025, QU has set its modern record for new undergraduates coming to the university in a single year.
Quincy University has welcomed 313 freshman students this fall, representing an 18% freshman enrollment increase from one year ago. The Fall 2025 class is QU’s second-largest freshman cohort since 1992. Quincy University also has enrolled its largest number of transfer students since 2011, with 118 transfer students in total.
From Fall 2022 to the present, Quincy University also has had over 300 students in three of its last four freshman classes for the first time in over 30 years.
“At a time of great technological and policy change for higher education, we are pleased to be the university of choice for so many first-year and transfer students,” said Brian McGee, PhD, president of Quincy University. “We are delighted by the quality and enthusiasm of our newest students, who will benefit from the institutional commitment to our Success by Design program. We look forward to an exciting new year at this wonderful Catholic and Franciscan university.”
“QU’s overall enrollment has also grown for Fall 2025, not surprisingly,” said McGee. “We are pleased by our ability to serve more students and by a corresponding and significant improvement to the university’s bottom line.”
The class of 2029 comes to QU from 26 states and 11 countries. Most students at Quincy University come from Illinois and Missouri, as has been the case throughout the history of the university.
“My team and I are very pleased to welcome all our new students,” said Tom Oliver, MA, vice president for enrollment and senior director of student financial services. “This incoming class includes students who bring a wide range of experiences, perspectives, and talents to our campus community. We are excited to see how they learn to use their talents and gifts to make a lasting impact on campus and in the world.”
With an average GPA of 3.46 and an average SAT score of 1121, QU’s freshman class has an academic profile similar to those reported for other recent classes at the university. Seventy-nine Illinois students are receiving the QU Illinois Tuition Promise, marking strong growth for participation in this program. QU’s Illinois Tuition Promise is intended to help make QU affordable for Illinois residents with significant financial need.
