For decades, Quincy University has prepared for its future through strategic planning. At different times and in different ways, QU has identified important initiatives for institutional progress, set goals and timelines for improving the university, and has worked to achieve those goals. In recent years, strategic planning efforts have centered on such topics as new program development, student enrollment, the growth of financial resources supporting university operations, and the enhancement of student and alumni services.
Quincy University now uses a dynamic planning approach in setting goals for the future. Each year, the President and the President’s Cabinet identify institutional strategic initiatives for that year. Many individual offices and divisions of the university also create their own strategic initiatives for each year.
All strategic initiatives for an academic year should align with the four institutional foci, which are the “pillars” of strategic planning work at Quincy University. The current pillars identify our enduring strategic priorities:
Exceptional Program Quality
Catholic and Franciscan Values
Effective Stewardship
Compelling Student and Community Experience
Quincy University also has a Facilities Master Plan, which has been approved by the QU Board of Trustees. The Facilities Master Plan guides improvements to campus and information infrastructure and is consistent with the strategic initiatives identified through dynamic planning.
