Nora Baldner, Assistant Professor of Communication at Quincy University, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from University of California at Davis, and a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from University of Missouri, Columbia.

Prior to teaching Baldner spent twenty years in the television news industry as a reporter, anchor, producer, assignment editor and news director. She also wrote a popular column for The Quincy Herald-Whig newspaper.  During her time in broadcast news, Baldner won an Emmy and an Edward R. Murrow award. Her favorite story was about a student with autism fighting for a chance to go to school in 1989. She is still in contact with his family today.

Assistant Professor Baldner teaches original content creation through digital and television writing, video storytelling, and social media platforms. She says her greatest accomplishments come in emails from former students who remember that one thing they talked about in that one class that helped them change their part of the world for the better.
