Dr. Parker-Barnes has been a counselor for over a decade and has researched the effects of social class trauma and classism in counseling for several years. Dr. Parker-Barnes has worked with clients with various presenting concerns including trauma, mood disorders, grief, interpersonal conflict, mandated-related issues, and others. Dr. Parker-Barnes has also written various articles related to multiculturalism, intersectionality, social class trauma, classism, and other topics for organizations such as The National Career Development Association, The Family Journal, The Career Development Quarterly, The Journal of Counseling in Illinois, and The International Association for Resilience and Trauma Counseling.
