The School of Fine Arts and Communication

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art degree empowers students to explore creativity through hands-on learning and thoughtful expression. Students develop technical skills, visual communication, and a strong artistic voice while engaging with both traditional and contemporary media. The program prepares graduates to create meaningful work that connects, inspires, and serves their communities.

Opportunities & Outcomes

Students in the Art major engage in hands-on, creative experiences that encourage artistic exploration, technical skill development, and personal expression. Through studio courses in a variety of media, students build a strong portfolio while working closely with faculty mentors. Opportunities include participation in exhibitions, collaborative projects, campus and community art events, and internships that provide real-world experience in artistic and creative settings.

Career Pathways

Graduates develop strong visual communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that prepare them for careers in fine arts, graphic design, illustration, art education, gallery and museum work, and other creative industries. The program also provides a solid foundation for graduate study and professional training in art and design–related fields.
