The School of Education and Human Services

The Psychology program helps students understand human behavior, thought, and emotion while building skills that matter in real-world settings. Students explore how people learn, develop, and interact, gaining insight into mental health, relationships, and human decision-making.

Through coursework, research opportunities, and applied learning, students develop strong critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills. The program emphasizes ethical practice, respect for individuals, and thoughtful engagement with communities, preparing students for careers in people-focused fields or for graduate and professional study.

Career Pathways

A Psychology degree prepares students for a wide range of people-focused careers by helping them understand how individuals think, feel, and behave. Students develop strong analytical, communication, and research skills that support success in graduate and professional programs, as well as careers in psychology, counseling, social services, education, healthcare, and related fields.

Research Practicum

All Psychology majors do either a Research Practicum or an Applied Practicum at one of Quincy’s local institutions such as Quanada, Chaddock, and Transitions.
