Instructor/Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice

Quincy University, a Franciscan, Catholic, and liberal arts institution emphasizing the development of servant-leaders, seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Criminal Justice. Criminal Justice is one of the top five enrollments by major at QU. The University has an active mock-trial program, and other avenues for student involvement with the discipline such as the Women in Law club, as well as numerous internship and service opportunities.

Responsibilities: QU is seeking qualified candidates to teach courses such as Foundations of Criminal Law, Contemporary Criminal Law and Procedure, Ethics, Justice, Diversity, Juvenile Delinquency, and/or other courses in their areas of expertise and interest. The usual teaching load is 4 courses each semester. Academic advising and committee work are expected after the first year.

Qualifications: A doctorate in Criminal Justice, Law, or related field is required. Teaching experience at the college level is preferred.

Position Start Date: August 17, 2026.

Position Salary Range: $53,000 – $59,000

Assistant Professor of English

Opening: Quincy University, a Catholic, Franciscan university in the liberal arts tradition, seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of English, specializing in American Literature.

Responsibilities: The hired candidate will teach the equivalent of four undergraduate sections per semester, including sections in the first-year composition program, surveys of American Literature, and upper-division literature courses, and maintain a level of scholarly and creative activity appropriate at an institution emphasizing high-quality teaching.

The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Academic advising, assisting with curricular development, program assessment, participation in faculty activities, and committee service are expected after the first year. Faculty are encouraged to engage students in undergraduate research opportunities

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in English, or related discipline, with college-level teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications: A generalist with expertise in American Literature and the ability to teach rhetorical writing, and/or literary/critical theory. Scholarly or teaching experience or interest in Catholic literature, Catholic intellectual traditions, or religion and literature is welcomed and considered a plus.

Core responsibilities include teaching College Algebra, the Calculus series, Discrete Math, Probability and Statistics, Linear Algebra, Numerical Analysis, Differential Equations, Data Analysis, as well as advanced engineering mathematics.

Opening: Quincy University, a Catholic liberal arts institution in the Franciscan tradition, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the School of Fine Arts & Communication, with a specialization in digital communication and social media. We seek a dynamic teacher-scholar whose expertise complements and expands our program offerings. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching, evidence of scholarly potential, and the ability to engage students in critical and applied approaches to communication and digital media.
Responsibilities:
● Teach undergraduate courses in areas such as digital communication, social media strategy, digital content creation, media analytics, and emerging communication technologies.
● Contribute to the core communication curriculum (e.g., public speaking, strategic communication, communication theory, or related areas).
● Advise and mentor students, including supervision of research and projects.
● Engage in departmental, college, and university service.
● Contribute to ongoing curriculum development to ensure programs remain current with industry and scholarly trends.
Required Qualifications:
● Ph.D. required for tenure track status.

Head Coach for Women’s Flag Football

Quincy University is seeking an energetic, motivated, and student-centered leader to serve as the inaugural Head Coach for Women’s Flag Football. This is an exciting opportunity to build a program from the ground up and establish a culture of excellence for one of Quincy University’s newest athletic offerings.

The selected candidate will lead all aspects of program development, recruiting, and student-athlete success while supporting the mission and values of Quincy University.

Position Details:
• Target start date: July 1, 2026
• The 2026–2027 academic year will focus primarily on recruiting, roster development, scheduling, program planning, and establishing the foundation of the program
• Women’s Flag Football will officially begin intercollegiate competition during the 2027–2028 academic year as a spring sport

Responsibilities:
• Lead and oversee all operations of the Women’s Flag Football program
• Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes who align with Quincy University’s mission and values
• Build and develop a competitive program from its inception
• Develop practice plans, training sessions, and game strategies that promote athletic growth and success
• Teach and mentor student-athletes while fostering leadership, accountability, and personal development
• Monitor academic progress and provide support for student-athlete success and retention
• Supervise assistant coaches and support staff
• Manage program budgets and athletic equipment within established guidelines
• Coordinate scheduling, travel arrangements, meals, and team operations
• Develop and implement fundraising and community engagement initiatives

Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach

The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach supports the leadership and daily operations of the men’s basketball program. This position is responsible for assisting in coaching, recruiting, student-athlete development, compliance, academic monitoring, game preparation, and program administration in alignment with NCAA, conference, and University policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a representative of the University, demonstrating professionalism, courtesy, tact, and discretion in all interactions with students, staff, and the public.

  • Participate in required NCAA, conference, and institutional compliance and continuing education programs.
  • Monitor academic progress, retention, and well-being of student-athletes, providing guidance, support, and referrals as appropriate.
  • Recruit prospective student-athletes through travel to high schools, showcases, club events, and other recruiting opportunities, and maintain relationships with coaches and programs.
  • Instruct student-athletes in the sport of basketball, including:
    • Developing structured practice plans and instructional materials
    • Teaching fundamental and advanced skills and strategies
    • Designing drills, simulations, and competitive training activities
    • Adapting coaching techniques to meet varied learning styles and skill levels
  • Assist with promotion of the program, including social media and marketing efforts.
  • Assist with fundraising and program development initiatives.
  • Assist with scheduling opponents and coordinating competition logistics.
  • Assist in management of athletic grants/aid within institutional and budgetary guidelines.
  • Support roster management and recruitment efforts aligned with institutional goals.
  • Assist with game day operations, including setup, breakdown, and facility management.
  • Coordinate or assist with camps and clinics.
  • Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, administration, and external stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Prior coaching or playing experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Salary:  $33,000 -$ 35,000

Position Summary:
The Assistant Women’s Wrestling Coach supports all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division II program, including coaching, recruiting, academic oversight, fundraising, and compliance. Essential Responsibilities:

Admission Counselor

Quincy University invites qualified applicants for a full-time Admission Counselor position.  Reporting to the Dean of Admission, the Admission Counselor plays an integral role in realizing the University’s overall enrollment goals through the recruitment of new students.  Ideal candidates will enjoy engaging with prospective students, articulating the relevance of a liberal arts and sciences education in a community grounded and informed by Franciscan values and the University’s Catholic heritage.  An Admission Counselor must speak persuasively to large and small groups, possess exceptional writing skills, work independently as well as collaboratively, self-motivate, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, travel frequently, and sometimes work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.  This position is classified as hourly and Admission Counselors may work more than forty hours per week in pursuit of the University’s enrollment goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage geographic territory – including visiting high schools, meeting with students and parents, articulating the benefits of a Quincy education, assisting students through the application and enrollment processes, and helping families with the application for financial assistance.
  • Use various communication channels to build relationships with students, parents, guidance counselors, and other influencers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Maintain accurate data and reporting for assigned territory, including inquired, applied, admitted, and committed students.
  • Maintain the integrity of student data in CRM, and analyze student data to manage student recruitment within specific territory.
  • Participate in recruitment events including on-campus recruiting events, college fairs, high school visits, and other events as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience with student recruitment and/or marketing preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability.
  • Willingness to travel, work non-traditional hours, and sometimes over 40 hours per week.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning how to effectively use technology to achieve recruitment goals.

Salary: $40,000
