Meet Dr. St. Clair
Dr. Trevor St. Clair is an occupational therapy educator, clinician, and academic leader whose career spans hybrid and residential OT education, program development, accreditation, fieldwork, doctoral capstone education, pediatrics, mental health, and acute care. At Quincy University he serves as core faculty in the hybrid OTD program, contributing to curriculum design, accreditation preparation, online and in-person teaching, student mentorship, assessment, and immersive lab planning.
Dr. St. Clair has previously served as a founding department chair, associate professor, doctoral capstone coordinator, academic fieldwork coordinator, and consultant to developing occupational therapy programs. His academic work includes experience with ACOTE candidacy, self-study, site visit, preaccreditation, initial accreditation, and reaccreditation processes. He also holds the AOTA Academic Leadership Institute Credentialed Leader in Academia designation and has completed multiple credentials focused on active, inclusive, and effective online learning.
His clinical experience includes school-based pediatrics, autism services, outpatient pediatrics, acute care, community mental health, child and adolescent behavioral health, and community service coordination. This broad practice background allows him to help students connect clinical reasoning with the realities of people, systems, communities, and contemporary practice.

Teaching & Mentorship
Dr. St. Clair has taught and developed courses in mental health and community-based practice, pediatrics and adolescence, adult practice, capstone, fieldwork, and occupational therapy in healthcare. He has also led immersive learning experiences in clinical skills, research, administration, leadership, policy development, advocacy, education, and theory advancement. His current QU role includes mentoring students in fieldwork, capstone, and professional scholarship.
Clinical Background
Dr. St. Clair’s clinical practice includes Indianapolis Public Schools, ABA/autism clinics, school systems in North Carolina, outpatient pediatrics, acute care, child and adolescent psychiatric care, and community mental health. He has worked with children and adolescents with autism, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, behavioral and mental health needs, and other complex conditions, while also bringing experience in adult acute care and community services.

Why I Teach at Quincy
I enjoy helping students see how flexible and far-reaching occupational therapy can be. My own career has moved through pediatrics, mental health, acute care, fieldwork, capstone, program development, and academic leadership, and I bring those perspectives into the classroom. QU’s hybrid model gives us the opportunity to pair strong online learning with immersive hands-on experiences and close mentorship, which is a combination I value as an educator.
Beyond OT
Outside of his professional work, Dr. St. Clair is an avid outdoor enthusiast who stays active through running, trail running, hiking, and swimming. He also loves traveling and trying new foods, often accompanied by his miniature dachshund, Rocky.
