Travis Yates is an Associate Professor of Communication at Quincy University, teaching in the classroom and online since 2006. He holds a Master’s degree in American Media and Popular Culture from Arizona State University, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Quincy University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Media Arts from Southern Illinois University.
Before teaching, Yates spent ten years in the television news industry as a producer, reporter, and videographer, where he won an Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He is also a multimedia artist, with short films included in the Los Angeles CineFest, Blow-Up Chicago International Arthouse Film Festival, and Helios Film Festival in Cincinnati.
