Joseph Coelho, PhD

Dr. Joe Coelho is a Professor of Biology at Quincy University, where he teaches all of the field courses, including Ecology, Environmental Science, Entomology and Plant and Vertebrate Field Biology. With over 35 years of experience, he encourages students to become complete naturalists via trips to numerous natural areas in the region. His research has two branches. The first involves the ecology of insects, including thermoregulation and foraging capacity in wasps, especially cicada killers. The second branch of research involves cultural entomology, primarily the representation of insects in music.
