Jim Lawrence has spent nearly five decades working in broadcasting and media production. He began teaching as an adjunct instructor in Quincy University’s Communications program in 2001 and joined the university full-time in August 2021 as Digital Media Production Coordinator.
Before coming to Quincy University full time, Lawrence worked for many years at WGEM where he held a variety of roles including videographer, production coordinator, and on-air talent. His final position at the station was Director of Operations and Engineering and Hub Manager, where he oversaw broadcast operations and master control hub operation.
At Quincy University, Lawrence produces digital media content for the university, teaches communications courses, and manages the university’s television studio facilities. He also designed the technical layout of the QU Studio, helping create a modern production space where students gain hands-on experience with professional media equipment and production workflows.
