Barb Rowland serves as Director of Academic Assessment, Director of First Year Experience, Higher Learning Commission Liaison Officer, and Lecturer in English at Quincy University. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, as well as a master’s degree in English with a focus in Composition, bringing extensive expertise in teaching, assessment, and academic leadership to her work.
With more than 30 years of teaching experience, Barb is passionate about fostering student success and helping learners become autonomous, critical thinkers who embrace challenges and engage thoughtfully in the learning process. As an experienced assessment leader, Barb specializes in developing and implementing data-informed strategies that improve learning outcomes, strengthen institutional effectiveness, and advance strategic goals across the university.
