Course Self-Registration
Students register for courses based on the number of hours they have completed at the end of the Spring or Summer 2025 term. Students must meet with their academic advisor to receive authorization before they can register for courses on their own through the student portal.
Registration Preparation
- Review the offered courses for the upcoming semester(s) by using the Course Search feature in the QU portal.
- Use the QU Navigate 360 app to schedule an appointment with your academic advisor in advance and come prepared with a tentative list of courses you plan to take. During the meeting, you and your advisor will review and finalize your course selections, after which your advisor will authorize you for self-registration in the student portal (my.quincy.edu). Once authorized, you can register for classes on your assigned date and time according to the registration schedule.
- Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences (BRCN) Junior/Senior students will register with their BRCN advisor, Kim Erskine (erskiki@quincy.edu).
- Note that there are some courses and situations where students cannot self-register.
- Practicum/Internship hours must be registered prior to the start date of the experience. Email Kristin Liesen (liesekr@quincy.edu) in the QUEST Center (Student Success Center) for details.
- To register for credit hours over eighteen (18), students need the approval of the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs ( Email academicaffairs@quincy.edu or visit Francis Hall, Room 124).
Registration Holds
Students are encouraged to regularly check their account for any registration holds that may prevent enrollment or schedule changes. Registration holds can be related to advising, financial obligations, or missing requirements, and should be resolved as early as possible to avoid delays. Information about active holds and instructions for resolving them can be found in QU Navigate 360, and students should contact the appropriate office if additional assistance is needed.
- Business Office holds (email studentaccounts@quincy.edu in the Business Office)
- Immunization holds (email Tammy Duesterhaus duestta@quincy.edu or visit the front desk of Francis Hall)
- Major Declaration holds (email the Registrar’s Office at registrar@quincy.edu or visit Francis Hall Room 130).
