Quincy University and Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences (BRCN) will host a Nursing and Health Sciences Visit Day at noon Nov. 6.
The event offers prospective students and families a firsthand look at the institutions’ shared commitment to academic success and career preparation.
“Our mission is to provide a quality education. Partnerships enable Blessing-Rieman to focus on our strengths which include providing quality in an environment created for nursing and health sciences,” said Brenda Beshears, president, Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences. “We can utilize our resources to create a cutting-edge simulation center, ensure students are placed in high-quality clinical experiences with small student-to-faculty ratios, all while enjoying the benefits of being on a liberal arts campus.”
Students interested in healthcare careers will learn how the QU/BRCN partnership sets them up for success in college and their career. The visit day includes a QU campus tour and a tour of BRCN’s state-of-the-art simulation resources available in nursing, radiology, respiratory care and sonography. Attendees will participate in a dedicated Q&A session with Admissions staff and BRCN representatives to learn more about financial aid, scholarship opportunities and the intentional planning involved in shaping each student’s experience.
“Students have the advantage of having a Blessing Rieman faculty mentor from their sophomore year forward. This enables each student to build relationships early in their educational journey with their faculty. Relationships are known to increase retention and
satisfaction among students,” said Beshears. “Additionally, our students experience clinical placement in all areas of the hospital that is designed to build confidence, develop skills, and provide opportunities throughout our program. This leads to 100 percent job placement upon graduation.”
