The Quincy University Music Department choirs will present a free fall concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 in the St. Francis Solanus Chapel, located in Francis Hall at 1800 College Ave.
QU’s Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, and a cappella group, Hawks of Harmony, will present a variety of musical selections, including works by Gerald Finzi, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Claude Debussy, and George Gershwin.
Assistant director Katherine Marshall, who is in her last semester before student teaching, will direct “Sing Gently” by 21st-century choral composer Eric Whitacre. The QU choirs are under the direction of Jonathon Stewart, DMA, associate professor of Voice and director of choral activities and are accompanied by Laura Kammerer.
