The Quincy University Symphonic Band will perform a spring concert on May 3 at 3 p.m. in the Connie Niemann Center for Music, at QU North Campus, 17th & Seminary Road.
The symphonic band will be led by six student conductors from the Instrumental Conducting course taught by Bill Machold, assistant professor of music and director of bands. The students select the music and rehearse it from first read to the concert, learning rehearsal techniques, building their conducting technique, and developing confidence to prepare them for careers in music education.
The QU Symphonic Band is under the direction of Bill Machold, MM, assistant professor of music and director of bands. For more information, call 217-228-5432 ext. 3163.
