The Quincy University Music Program will host the annual QU Honor Jazz Band Festival on April 24 at the Connie Niemann Center for Music at 17 th and Seminary Road.
The high school musicians chosen to participate in this festival are from the tri-state area and were nominated by their band directors and selected in a competitive process. Participants will perform in a jazz band, participate in a clinic, and watch a performance by the QU Hawk Express Jazz Band at 2 p.m. under the direction of Dr. Christine Damm, DMA, dean of the school of fine arts and communication.
The event will culminate with a performance by the high school musicians at 5:00 p.m. Selections will include a wide variety of jazz genres. The concert is free and open to the public.
