Short Term Programs
The Assisi Experience
Offered every four years, this program traces the footsteps of St. Francis through Assisi, San Damiano, LaVerna, Greccio, Vatican City, and Rome. This program includes:
- An 8-week preparatory course
- Independent research and collaborative projects
- A 10-day guided journey through Italy
- Earn three credit hours
The London Experience: Cultures in Comparison
Offered annually, this program dives into the historical and cultural ties between the U.S. and Great Britain. Highlights include:
- Fall semester course with travel during J-term break
- Visits to Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, and more
The Music Experience
Offered every two years, this program invites students to travel abroad alongside Quincy University’s music faculty for an immersive experience that combines performance, historical exploration, and cultural appreciation. With destinations changing each cycle, each journey offers a unique global perspective.
Semester-Long Opportunities
College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS)
Through the College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS), Quincy University students can choose from more than 100 study abroad programs in 27 countries—while remaining enrolled at Quincy. CCIS programs offer the flexibility to align global experiences with your academic goals.

How Do I Pay for Study Abroad?
Study abroad program costs typically range from $2,500 to $6,000, depending on the destination and length of the program. Quincy University is committed to helping students make global learning experiences affordable, and there are several ways to plan and manage these expenses:
- Fundraising opportunities are available throughout the year and may be tailored to specific programs
- Financial aid counselors can help you explore budgeting strategies and funding options
- Eligible students may apply for QUEST Cash and study abroad–specific scholarships, including:
- Linda J. Godley Study Abroad Scholarship
- Ridgley Pierson Study Abroad Scholarship
Expectations for Participation
Quincy University is dedicated to providing a safe, enriching, and respectful study abroad experience. To participate, students must:
- Be currently enrolled and in good academic standing
- Demonstrate courteous and responsible behavior in housing and during group activities
- Respect host cultures and follow all local laws, customs, and program guidelines
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
All study abroad applications are reviewed by the Quincy University Study Abroad Committee. To be eligible, students must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have completed at least one semester at Quincy University with a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Be in good academic, financial, and disciplinary standing
Medical Requirements
All students participating in study abroad programs must maintain adequate health, accident, disability, and hospitalization insurance for the full duration of the program. In the event of an emergency, students will be required to sign a release authorizing Quincy University and its representatives to arrange necessary medical care, including hospitalization or surgery.
Travel Considerations
While independent and extracurricular travel is encouraged, Quincy University is not responsible for travel that occurs outside the official study abroad program. Students are responsible for:
- Rejoining the group if they become separated
- Making independent travel arrangements if scheduled program transportation is missed
- Seeking appropriate assistance in the event of illness or injury during personal excursions
Deposit & Cancellation Policy
Once enrolled in a study abroad program, the full cost of the trip—including a $500 non-refundable deposit—will be applied to the student’s account.
Refunds may be issued under the following circumstances:
- Cancellation ninety (90) or more days before departure: Partial refund may be available
- Cancellation fewer than sixty (60) days before departure: No refund will be issued
