The Watercolor USA Honor Society (WHS) selected Robert Lee Mejer, Quincy University distinguished professor of art, as their 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient.

Mejer is a signa­ture charter member of the National Watercolor Society, a Distinguished Master of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, and a Master Fellowship Member of the International Society of Experimental Artists. Mejer served as WHS President for four years.

Mejer has been a distinguished professor of art at Quincy University for 57 years. He is the founder and curator of QU Gray Gallery, a cultural and educational resource for students and the surrounding community. His innovative work has been shown in over 65 solo exhibitions and accepted for over 500 juried exhibitions.

“In my work, I hope to present (inside to out) rather than represent (outside to in),” said Mejer.

The 2025 Watercolor USA National Juried Exhibition will be held at The Spiva Art Center in Joplin, MO. The exhibit will run from August 23 to October 11 with a special opening reception on August 22.
