QU COMMUNICATION HONOR SOCIETY RECOGNIZES MEMBERS
Quincy University’s Kappa Lambda Rho chapter of the Lambda Pi Eta national communication honor society recently recognized graduates and new members.
Graduation honor cords were presented to four Kappa Lambda Rho seniors: Henry Balmer (vice-president) of Arnold, Mo.; Anthony Lundy (president) of Chicago, Ill.; Tyler Menendez (secretary) of St. Louis, Mo.; and Jake Vitale (treasurer) of St. Louis, Mo.
The following new members were inducted: Mia Blaesing of Mt. Sterling, Ill.; Lindsey Fischer of Quincy, Ill.; Brianna Graham of Coatsburg, Ill.; and Rochelle Witzke of Kansas City, Mo.
“Graduates are eligible to wear red and white honor cords at Commencement in recognition of their accomplishments in the major,” said Barbara Schleppenbach, PhD, associate professor of communication. “Students invited to membership have qualified through high levels of scholarship, and they are all campus leaders as well.”
Since 2005, the QU Communications department has maintained the Kappa Lambda Rho chapter membership in Lambda Pi Eta, the official communication studies honor society of the National Communication Association. As an accredited member of the Association of College Honor Societies, Lambda Pi Eta has over 300 active chapters at colleges and universities worldwide.
