Dr. Grattan works in the fields of American literature, queer theory, and environmental humanities. He is the author of Hope Isn’t Stupid: Utopian Affects in Contemporary American Literature (University of Iowa Press, 2017). His work has recently appeared in edited collections like Life In Plastic: Artistic Responses to Petromodernity (University of Minnesota Press, 2021), The City in American Literature and Culture (Cambridge University Press, 2021), and Noir Affect (Fordham University Press, 2020).
