Dr. Kimberly Hale is Professor of Biological Sciences, Associate Provost, and Director of Academic Advising at Quincy University. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from DePaul University, a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She brings a strong commitment to teaching, academic leadership, and student success to each of her roles.
Dr. Hale is deeply passionate about the classroom experience and values the close mentorship that develops through both teaching and research. Her scholarly interests include research with Aplysia californica, and she enjoys engaging students in hands-on learning that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry.
In her role as Director of Academic Advising, Dr. Hale is dedicated to supporting students throughout every stage of their academic journey. She works closely with faculty advisors, professional advising staff, and campus partners to ensure students receive accurate guidance in course planning, degree progression, and graduation readiness. She is especially committed to helping students navigate challenges, connect with resources, and develop clear academic and professional goals. Dr. Hale believes that effective advising is central to student success and strives to create an advising culture that is supportive, collaborative, and student-centered.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Dr. Hale enjoys spending time with her husband and her dog, as well as traveling to Chicago to visit her daughter.
