Dr. J. Antonio Cárdenas-Haro is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Cybersecurity at Quincy University. A Fulbright-Laspau scholar, he earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Arizona State University, following a Master’s degree in Computer Science from CICESE (Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education at Ensenada) and a Bachelor’s in Electronic Engineering from ITLM (Technological Institute). With over ten years of experience working at Western Illinois University, California State University Bakersfield, and University of Missouri St Louis, besides experience from industry, Dr. Cárdenas-Haro has developed a robust research agenda at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, and Cybersecurity. His primary expertise lies in network security automation, randomized distributed algorithms, and post-quantum cryptography. Specifically, his work addresses the “Sybil attack” in decentralized systems and the development of isogeny-based cryptosystems to secure communication against future quantum threats. Beyond his technical research, he is deeply committed to student-centered pedagogy and inclusive excellence. He actively involves students in high-impact research, aiming to empower the next generation of cybersecurity experts to build ethical, resilient, and equitable digital ecosystems.
