QU POLIS: Part 1: Our Solar System Part 2: Radio Astronomy

September 25, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

| $4

Part 1:  Our solar system is getting more attention as explorers, astronomers, astrophysicists, and space researchers understand earth’s limitations.  We are approaching a time when we return to the moon and even land humans on Mars. This course will look at the solar system and see what its dimensions and attractions are, and for those interested in astronomy, we’ll learn how to locate planets and moons.

Part 2:  Visible light is only a fraction of the electromagnetic signals present in space.  Radio Astronomy systems are the tools to “see” this part of the sky. How we use these systems to capture a picture of a Black Hole in M87 will be explained.
