Quincy University offers a variety of Catholic scholarships that reflect our commitment to faith, service, and academic excellence. These scholarships are designed to support students who are active in their parishes and communities, helping make a Quincy University education more accessible while honoring the Catholic and Franciscan values that shape our mission.

The Bishop’s Scholarship

This $5,000 scholarship is awarded to two students upon the recommendation of the Bishop of Springfield. To be considered, candidates must:

  • Be a member of a parish within the Diocese of Springfield
  • Apply to Quincy University and receive admission by December 15, 2025
  • Choose to enroll and submit a written statement by January 16, 2026 describing their involvement in their local parish, the Diocese, or the Catholic Church

This scholarship is subject to the University’s stacking policy, which caps total institutional aid at the cost of tuition. The award is renewable for up to eight semesters provided the recipient remains enrolled full-time and maintains a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA at Quincy University.

The Catholic Diocesan Scholarship

This $500 scholarship is awarded to students who are active members of a Catholic parish. To be eligible, students must:

  • Be a member of a Catholic parish
  • Apply to Quincy University and receive admission by April 17, 2026
  • Choose to enroll and submit a letter from a parish official confirming parish membership by May 15, 2026

Once parish membership is confirmed, the scholarship will be added to the student’s financial aid award. Students who receive the Bishop’s Scholarship are not eligible for this award.

The Franciscan Scholarship

This full-tuition scholarship provides a Quincy University education to a deserving student graduating from a Franciscan-sponsored high school. The scholarship is awarded on a last-dollar basis, meaning it is applied after all other grants and scholarships have been awarded, and total aid may not exceed the cost of tuition. To be considered, candidates must:

  • Apply to Quincy University and receive admission by April 17, 2026
  • Have a high school principal or counselor confirm the student’s intent to enroll at QU with the Office of Admissions by May 15, 2026
  • File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have the results sent to Quincy University

The scholarship is renewable for up to eight semesters provided the recipient remains enrolled full-time at Quincy University and maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3.
