The School of Education and Human Services

The Secondary (9–12) Education program prepares students to teach, mentor, and inspire high school learners during a pivotal stage of development. Students gain strong content knowledge in their chosen subject area while learning effective teaching strategies, classroom management, and assessment practices designed for adolescent learners.

The program emphasizes ethical leadership, inclusive instruction, and service. Through early field experiences and student teaching, future educators build the confidence and classroom skills needed to create engaging, supportive learning environments.

Career Pathways

A Secondary Education degree prepares students for teaching and leadership roles in high schools and education-related settings, as well as for graduate study.
