Quincy University will host the fourth annual QU Alumni Day on Thursday, February 17, in honor of the university’s first day of classes, on February 6, 1860. QU alumni are encouraged to wear a QU Alumni button and QU gear to work and attend the day’s events. Participating alumni will receive two tickets to the women’s and men’s basketball games that evening.

“I invite all QU alumni, no matter where you live to wear a “QU Alumni” button and take a picture of yourself to share on social media using #qualumniday,” said Amanda Summers, coordinator of alumni services.  “I encourage all QU alumni in the Quincy region to join us for the day’s events as we celebrate their successes as graduates.”

The day will start with “Pastries with the President” at Krazy Cakes (512 Hampshire Street) from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Alumni are invited to join us for lunch, courtesy of fellow alumnus Luis Barnes ’89 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the QU Cafeteria (18th & Lind St.). The day will conclude at the women’s and men’s basketball games vs. Rockhurst University. Alumni will enjoy a dessert bar and can be a part of a group picture during halftime of the men’s basketball game in the Hall of Fame Room. QU Alumni buttons and the basketball tickets will be available at “Pastries with the President”, the Alumni Lunch or the Office of Advancement in Francis Hall B37. Alumni who attend any event will receive a 2022 Alumni Day t-shirt.

The women’s game starts at 5:30 p.m., the men’s game starts at 7:30 p.m., and the Mart Heinen Athletic Booster Club will host a soup and sandwich supper that evening in the Hall of Fame Room from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. Two kinds of soup and sandwiches will be served, with prices ranging from $3.00 – $7.00.
