The Quincy University Retirees Association is sponsoring a bus trip to the Arabia Steamboat Museum in Kansas City, MO on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. The trip is open to the public. The bus will depart from the Holy Cross Friary, located at 724 N 20th, at 7:00am. Lunch will be provided before the 90 minute tour and free time will be allotted before departure back to Quincy. The bus should return to Quincy by 7:15 pm.

The Arabia Steamboat Museum honors the recovery of cargo from the Arabia Steamboat which sunk near Kansas City in 1856. Although submerged in the Mississippi River for 132 years, remarkably preserved clothes, tools, and other artifacts were recovered and now contribute to the museum’s largest single collection of pre-Civil War artifacts in the world.

Dr. Gary Carter, QU’s retired Vice President for Instruction and Provost, will lead the tour. The cost is $75 per person and includes lunch and tour fees. Please RSVP by September 9th and make checks payable to POLIS.

Checks can be mailed to:
