
QU Professor Featured In Art Exhibitions
QU’s Distinguished Professor of Art Robert Lee Mejer’s watercolor, “Somewhere in Between” will be featured in the ninth annual Signature American Watermedia International Exhibition at the Fallbrook Art Center, Feb. 4- April 15.
Mejer’s work was chosen by Ratindra Das, distinguished master in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, for inclusion in the Signature American Watermedia International Exhibition. Only artists holding a Signature Membership Status in one or more U.S. watercolor/watermedia societies were eligible to compete. Up to 100 works were selected with only one work per artist accepted.
Pieces of Mejer’s work will also be featured in his 50 – Year Art Retrospective (1968-2018) Exhibit, Inscapes, at The Art Center in the Katherine Gardner Stevenson Gallery from March 16 – April 25. There will be an opening reception March 16, 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. with an Artist Talk at 7:30 p.m. The Art Center is open Monday – Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Mejer has been a distinguished professor of art, Gray Gallery Curator and Art Program coordinator at Quincy University since 1968. He is an Illinois artist, painter, printmaker juror and visiting artist.
