QUINCY, Ill. –  The Quincy University Music Department will host its 9th Annual Summer Percussion Ensemble Camp for students entering grades 7-12. The camp runs from 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23 in the Connie Niemann Center for Music (17th &Seminary Road). The cost of the camp is $125 per participant and includes meals and two nights lodging on campus.

Under the direction of Bill Machold, QU assistant professor of music and director of bands,  students will rehearse a variety of percussion ensemble music for large and small groups and present a concert at 4 p.m. on Thursday June 23. Guest directors include area educators Jill Steinkamp and Rebecca Washington. This year’s camp will feature guest artist Candice Hill, a percussionist and steel drum performer from the Kansas City area. Candice will perform with the students and present solo material.
