Quincy University and Culver-Stockton College are partnering together to host the History Department Symposium on Monday, November 12, at 6:00 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Room, located in the Health and Fitness Center (20th and Oak). This event is free and open to the public.

The Symposium will include presentations on “World War I: 100 Years Later” by professors from Quincy University and Culver-Stockton College.  Moderating the Symposium is Dr. Scott Giltner, professor of history, Culver-Stockton College

Presentations include:

  • “The Great War: What Made it the Great War?” – Dr. Wendell Mauter, professor of history, Quincy University
  • “WWI and Modern Middle East: The Foundations of Today’s Challenges” – Dr. Patrick Holte, professor of history, Culver-Stockton College
  • “World War I, Lutherans, and the St. James Lutheran Parish of Quincy, Ill.” – Dr. Justin Coffey, associate professor of history, Quincy University
