QUINCY, Ill. – Quincy University is reviving 18th Street by updating the university’s Greek houses.

QU’s Greek Row Remodel will bring positive improvements to the Quincy community and the campus. In addition to enhancing the visual appearance of 18th Street, the Greek Row Remodel will offer much-needed housing updates. The remodel will also attract students to Quincy University and the Quincy community and will enhance the housing and meeting space for Greek life students.

“Strengthening the overall presence of the campus community will advance community development, and it will attract students from diverse backgrounds to attend Quincy University and invest their professional knowledge and skill set back into the Quincy area,” said Dr. Christine Tracy, QU Vice President of Student Development/Dean of Students.

The Greek Row Remodel includes all four Greek houses and will be executed in three stages. The first stage of exterior renovations is underway due to a $25,000 gift from a donor. The next stages include interior improvements and outdoor advancements. These will proceed as QU alumni and Quincy community supporters help fund these renovation stages.

“With your donations, the Greek houses can afford long overdue upgrades. These upgrades help new members feel like they’re joining an organization that takes pride in itself. When a space looks good, it feels good,” said Meghan Salamon, Class of ’23, Alpha Omicron Pi, Secondary Education English major.
