Dr. Miles is a teacher, a scholar, self-proclaimed geek, and a dad. Dr. Miles began his career teaching high school where he had a reputation for doing outlandish things just to get students to remember the basic facts of history or theology. He holds M.A in philosophy and theology but since he is a glutton for punishment and received his PhD in 2009. His scholarly work is primarily in the field of applied ethics especially ethics related to medical practice and civil liberties especially freedom of speech and religion. His c.v. and works in progress can be found here. Dr. Miles serves on ethics committees for both Blessing Hospital and the Illinois Veterans' Home. When not teaching, Dr. Miles can be found reading comic books or playing video games. He is the father of Wesley and Gloria and is deeply in love with his wife, Stacie.
