Patterson’s presentation will involve a look at both the opportunities and pleasures peoplefind in reading as well as the anxieties that the technology of writing has stirred at different epochs in both the East and West. He received his BA in the great books program St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1991.
