An Explanation of Pope Francis’ Encyclical Laudato Si

What is happening in our Common House? The Gospel of Creation, the human roots of the ecological crisis, integral ecology, lines of approach and action, and the ecological education and spirituality are the topics for discussion as the encyclical Laudato Si of Pope Francis will be explained.
Lecturer: Father Michael Kuse, former Pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church. Father Kuse is a Catholic Priest of the Springfield Diocese, born and raised in Quincy. His philosophy and theology studies took place at Mundelein Seminary near Chicago. In addition to parish assignments, he has also served as Vocation Directory and President of the National Conference of Vocation Directors and has made numerous trips to Haiti which has encouraged him to become involved in our Common Home. There is a study group at Blessed Sacrament Parish that meets regularly and are implementing programs in Quincy.
POLIS is an opportunity for lifelong learning for seniors, 55+ years. There are two semesters each year requiring a membership fee of $15 per semester. Choose from 15 or more classes each semester. Classes are $4 each. Classes are casual in lecture format with no tests, plus cookies and coffee at break. Cancellations do occur due to inclement weather.
