Dr. Shinn serves the students and the QU community as the full-time institutional researcher. He provides the QU community with data as requested, answers to research questions, timely submissions of required reports for federal (IPEDS, NSC), state (IBHE),  & accreditation (HLC) agencies, and data submissions to popular directories (e.g., Petersons, US News & World Reports).  He assists the QU staff with using the Jenzabar student information system. Dr. Shinn also serves as the HLC Accreditation Liaison Officer communicating with the HLC and staying up-to-date on accreditation criteria and requirements. Dr. Shinn’s doctorate is in Educational Psychology which gives him the opportunity to teach occasionally for the Education Master’s program and the Psychology department. His primary interest within Psychology is memory and learning.  Dr. Shinn is the happy husband of Connie and the joyful father of their two daughters.  He admires the St. Louis Arch,  musicians Beethoven, Dvorak, Knophler, Simon & Garfunkel, and The Beatles, computer scientist Hopper, psychologists Tolman, Guthrie, Skinner, Simon, Jenkins, Schommer, Schreiber, & Arrowsmith-Young, and the St. Louis Cardinals & the Oakland Athletics. Lastly, but hardly least, he is blessed to know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through Orthodox Christianity.
