Dakota received his master’s in English from Western Illinois University in 2019 where he taught college Composition I and was the Tutor Training Coordinator of the University Writing Center. His research interests consist of cultural, cinema, and critical studies of the Postmodern era. Through the scope of his research, he attempts to challenge the normative modes of social construction and critique the elusive nature of what it means to be human. His master’s thesis is entitled “Neo-neorealism: Anxiety, Desire, and De-Glamorization in the Films of Joe Swanberg”.  Dakota is also interested in pop culture, cinema, music, sports, and animals.
