comerfordSince beginning her professional career as director of Garner Hall and Quincy University’s assistant director of campus activities in 1993, Ann Comerford ’91 has established herself as one of Illinois’ most respected higher education professionals.

Following her years at Quincy University, Comerford began pursuing an advanced degree at Southern Illinois University Carbondale as a special programs graduate assistant before coming to Western Illinois University in 1999 to serve as assistant director of campus activities. Following no less than three promotions in the past decade, Comerford was most recently named director of WIU’s university union.

As university union director, Comerford is responsible for supervising student activities, the university bookstore, building operations, and more.  Comerford also advises the Student Government Association and the Council on Student Activity Funds.   
A regular presenter at industry conferences, Comerford is a member of numerous professional higher education organizations and was named president of the Illinois College Personnel Association.  She currently serves as the vice president of Quincy University’s National Alumni Board.

In addition to her Quincy University undergraduate degree, Comerford earned her masters degree in education with an emphasis in college student personnel from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1999.
